Here at DMV BOA, we are not only a non-profit organization set on growing the boating community in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area, but a boat club community set on embracing expert and amateur boaters alike.
Together, we foster a welcoming environment where everyone feels included and comfortable, regardless of their level of experience or interest in boating.
Leadership
President Darren D. Foster
Darren plays a key leadership role in representing and overseeing the interests of boat owners in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas, his responsibilities include leading meetings, coordinating events, advocating for members’ interests with local authorities, managing the operations and finances of the DMV Boat Owners Association and the DMV Boat Owners Club, and fostering a sense of community among members. Darren is also involved in strategic planning and setting the direction for the association's future.
Vice President Lloyd Richard (Administration and Policy)
Lloyd plays a key role in managing the day-to-day activities of the association's staff, ensuring efficient and effective operations. Lloyd works closely with the President, Secretary, Treasurer, and DMV Boat Owners Club leadership to advance the associations goals, contributing to strategic planning and implementation. Additionally, Lloyd co-chairs the association's board of directors, collaborating on governance and policy decisions to guide the organization's direction and impact.
Vice President Shavon Givens (Events and Outreach)
Shavon plays a key role in managing the day-to-day activities of the association's staff, developing and planning events, and identifying organizations to support in the associations charitable activities. Shavon works closely with the President to advance the associations goals, contributing to strategic planning and implementation. Shavon also participates in outreach activities to strengthen community engagement and support.
Ambassador Angie Coleman
Angie is a passionate and knowledgeable advocate dedicated to enhancing the boating community across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. She serve as a bridge between boat owners and the association, facilitating outreach through educational seminars, local events, and social media engagement. Angie's role involves promoting safe boating practices, environmental stewardship, and member benefits, while fostering a sense of camaraderie among enthusiasts. With a blend of expertise and enthusiasm, the ambassador helps ensure that boating remains an enjoyable and accessible experience for all members.
Ambassador Rachelle Lighty
Rachelle is a fervent and informed advocate committed to improving the boating community throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. She serves as a liaison between boat owners and the association, orchestrating outreach via educational seminars, local events, and social media engagement. Her role includes advocating for safe boating practices, environmental stewardship, and member benefits, all while nurturing a spirit of fellowship among boating enthusiasts. Combining her expertise and zeal, Rachelle ensures that boating continues to be a pleasurable and attainable activity for all members.
